Links To Ethical and Environmentally Friendly Companies

Hi Guys,

Hope you're all well. I've been delayed putting this on due to the lurgy but back in full force. The ideas board liked the idea of a thread for ethical companies so thought I'd better get my butt in gear and start it off with a couple of recommendations.

I came across Ethical Superstore recently but haven't got round to ordering from them yet but they seem to have good reviews and a great range of products.

https://www.ethicalsuperstore.com/

https://www.hairygrowler.co.uk/ No it isn't a dodgy porn site, put your dirty minds away folks!! This guy is an amazing jeweller based in Cambridge. he uses old coins, silver spoons and has even started using old and used marbles in his work. I've had a couple of pieces bought for me of his and they are really something special.

It would be awesome for folks to share companies, websites, crafters, stores near them and products that have good ethical and environemental standards.

Have a top week peeps

@NannyOgg probably for the best - I’m struggling to believe it’s September already let alone anything else! :zipper_mouth::joy:

Thanks @Bev and @Nataly . I suppose I should get cracking then lol! Am hoping to build up a supply for a certain season (I shan’t say the naughty C word at this point in the year)

@NannyOgg agreed with @Bev, that sounds like a lovely thing to do! Would love to see some photos when they’re done

I make little boxes with inspirational quotes for all kinds of reasons and also doing boxes with quotes from films and things.

Not sure it’s exciting @Nataly  :joy:

I make little boxes with inspirational quotes for all kinds of reasons and also doing boxes with quotes from films and things. When I’ve put a few more together I’ll pop some pictures on if you like. Have been working on some other little projects too using a recycling ethos. Will picture some of those too.

Been looking for some craft gift boxes for a while for my inspiration boxes and eventually plumped for https://www.tinyboxcompany.co.uk/

What’s an inspiration box @NannyOgg?! Sounds exciting!

They have a high percentage rate of recyced materials and seem really great at supporting start up businesses and do some good donating.

Thanks for the tip @Nataly, I never knew that. These might be a good choice for my daughter then. They not only list the ingredients they do use but also the ones they don’t and Sulphates was ont he list of ones not used.

Hey @NannyOgg I haven’t heard of this company before! I like the sustainable packaging

I do know however that as a general rule it’s good to look out for shampoo/conditioner that doesn’t contain sulfates, as these can dry hair out further.

This popped up onmy browser while hunting for a good shampoo for my daughter who has the most horrendously dry scalp. I really like the fact that it is manufactured here in GB, vastly reduced the carbon footprint. Anyone come across these guys before?

I’ve had a quick scan through to make sure some of these are available in the UK. Some are quite expensive but really ver stylish.

@NannyOgg I really like their website, too!

I haven’t seen bamboo clothing, but I know bamboo cups/plates/coffee mugs are really good:thumbsup: and most are dishwasher friendly too! Useful for children, instead of lots of plastic plates and bowls.

Happy Friday peeps. Well I should be putting a cabin bed together, however, it only took me 5 minutes to realise that I may need to enrol on an engineering course so decided to do some sharing on here instead. I had a Marie Kondo style wardrobe clear out the other day and am striving to replenish it with more ethical clothes.

What really struck me is that they are designed to be returned when they are worn out and they make on demand rather than flood the market.

I’ve never been a handbag person but these randomly popped up on my phone before so thought I’d share it. https://en.getevelynbag.com/

Good morning PP community.

It would be great to hear of any great eco or ethical purchases or companies anyone has come across during the lockdown.

Scored a good one at Aldi again today and cost less than £2.

Seemed like a good time to share some eco friendly sun creams.
