• Double charge - check your statement if pureplanet estimates usage

When pureplanet estimates usage one month, the next month you are double charged - statement includes estimate from previous month.

    For example

    Statement from 20 April 2019
    19 Mar 2019 36121.0 Reading
    19 Apr 2019 36521.2 Estimate
    Energy Used 400.2 kWh @ 13.2000 p/kWh £52.83

    Statement from 20 May 2019
    19 Mar 2019 36121.0 Reading
    16 May 2019 36852.0 Reading
    19 May 2019 36886.3 Estimate
    Energy Used 765.3 kWh @ 13.2000 p/kWh £101.02

Actually, I'm not double charged - I do apologize.

In the pureplanet's statement summary it shows estimated amount from previous month has been credited back to my account, but breakdown gives impression I'm double charged. Perhaps, it would be nice to have a note in the breakdowns that estimated ones are gonna be credited back to account.

I wish I could change title of this conversation that my claim is not correct.

  • Hi

Your two statements cover different time periods, so unless you are saying that they actually took £52.83 from your bank in April, and £101.02 from your bank in May, I'm not sure what the issue is.

Your first statement says that over 31 days, you used 400.2kWh (12.90 kWh per day)
Your second statement says that over 61 days, (including the 31 days in the first statement) you used 765.3 kWh (12.54 kWh per day)

    Regards

  • Hello asaris.
I can see what you are saying however i would ask you to post the payment and balance section of the statement in order to clarify your statement. It should show a credit for the value of the april statement and then recharge it in may. For some reason you seem to of had a consolidated bill

  • Hi Asaris

Gwynd is absolutely right. The simplest place to reassure yourself that all is well is to open the app, click on the three little bars top right, select Balance and payments, then select 'transaction history'
This will show you what you have paid through your direct debit, and what the actual energy you have used has cost.
Hopefully this will confirm that you have paid your direct debit each month, and your usage based on the meter readings you have given.
Hope that clears up the problem
    Stephen

  • hi asaris
Can you clarify, was the £52.83 (+vat) deducted from your overall statement balance once in April and then again in May? i.e. twice?
It looks to me like the May is just a correction once real readings are known, the starting balance should have started £52.83+vat = £55.47 higher in May. Did it?

  • hi Gwyndy...no, not from his bank, but from the statement balance - an important distinction.

Don't worry about the title, there's a plus side to keeping it in that anyone else who may have a similar query and who does a search, may find the explanation useful, and thanks for posting back.

Shame about the z though ... (that was a joke).

I wish I could change title of this conversation that my claim is not correct.
