If I've understood this correctly, you were cold called by Octopus who then told you that you don't know how much you're paying for your energy?
If you signed up after the last increase you will have had a quote, so you'd know how much you were paying, and if you signed up before the last increase you'd have had notification of the price increase so you'd still know how much you'd be paying, so why would they say that?
They must have been very persuasive because you posted on here.
Do Octopus think it's OK to call customers and use that sort of tactic to sign them up I wonder?
How did they get your contact details? Had they been sold on by a third party?
I just hope PP don't start using tactics like that, it reminds me of the cold calling doorstep days which have been subsequently banned.
