  • How to create polls in the community

Creating a poll is an easy way to add an extra dimension to your thread.

They are useful if you want to get other community members’ opinions when there are various options to your question, beyond a simple yes or no.

Polls can be a fun way to talk about an issue in the Off Topic section, such as this poll created by @Bev who wanted to know how long members of the community spend in the shower!

All members can create polls - just follow these simple steps:

    Create a new thread
Give it a title and write some introductory words explaining what the thread and the poll is about. Most importantly, click/tap on ‘Additional options’ before you post your thread.
    Name: Post a new thread.JPG
Views: 119
Size: 64.8 KB

    Click/tap on ‘Additional options’
This expands a new area which allows you to add extra items to your new thread, such as an icon and a poll. Tick the ‘post a poll’ box and choose the number of options you want your poll to have - the default number is 4. Then click/tap on the pink ‘Post’ button.

    Post a Poll

Your thread is published, and you will be redirected to your poll creation step called ‘Post a Poll’. Here is where you give your poll a question, and the different options for people to pick from.
    Name: Post a poll.JPG
Views: 122
Size: 60.8 KB

    Extras
Finally, you can choose from some additional options, such as whether people can choose more than one answer or not. When you’re done. click/tap on the blue ‘Submit new poll’ button.
