Hi everyone,

Just to let you know our latest 100% Green Fixed tariff has just been released.

We’re posting about it because it’s our first ever 24 month fixed tariff!

We’re expecting this tariff to be quite popular, and it’s only available for a limited time.

The Members’ rates are available in our Community FAQs, and in the image below.

You can get a quote on our website, or if you’re already on supply with Pure Planet you can compare tariffs in your account under ‘menu’ > ‘tariff’.

Quick Draw - Spreads sheets out!

Tempting….pondering, scratching my chrome and thinking out loud, but listening up!

I’m sticking. Done my figures. Leaving olds as they are too 👍😁

How do I compare it to the rates on my soon to activate (5th June) 100% Green 16m Fixed May21 v1 Tariff? I’m again frustrated that there is no history of previous tariffs.

I think you picked a winner with your 16 month, our golden boy, deffo 👍👍👍👍

I love the announcement, and the excitement that it’s 24 months. For the communal debate alone, it’s a good thing 👍👍👍#engagement

Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t. But PP’s absence of a tariff archive makes it hard to know! The app won’t show me details of my soon to become live tariff.

I do wish the membership fees were not tampered with tho, that’s my only gripe.

Yeah, @Marc explained the thinking, but it is a shame...

He did indeed. Fully understand, but still ....

It would cost me approx £78 (6.89%) extra in the first year on the 24month fix v the 16month fix that will start mid June. So approx saving by sticking with the 16month of £104.00 v cost risks from 17month v the remaining 8 months.

I can’t wait to calculate it then...I need to take my  tablets - the bigger the pill the bigger the frill.

Will it be a close call…...

Thanks @Strutt G, appreciate your calculations. Good luck with the pill! 😉

@Nataly Can you let us know how limited is limited time?

I'd it gonna be as little as 7 days , like the 16m one?

Maybe you’ve got to be init it, to win it.

Its like a lift on a crowded day, you wanna go up but can’t get init, so you leap (like a young gazelle) into the one going down, to get your place to go up. Sorry I’m just been daft again.

@25 quid hopefully this is correct..(I hope so  I’m sure someone will let me know if it isn’t!)

at ofgem medium user figures the overall average compared to current variable tariff, the  percentages are

16 mo fix -5.6%

Jun 1st 24 mo. fix +0.73%,

no competition stay as you are

Hey @Angelabikerbabe

Good question. What I can say is, our pricing team have hedged for a certain number of switches to this tariff.

Once that number is reached, the tariff will be withdrawn. Since that info is commercially sensitive, I wouldn’t be able to post any further detail. :zipper_mouth:

Well, I've gone for the 24 month fix - anyone else taken the leap?

My tariff is nearly up so may choose to swap to this one as I'm happy with PP

Thanks @woz!

Ooh, I dunno what to do..…

Do I jump in for 24 months ,  thinking prices will increase again. Does anyone else think prices are set to rise again?

Or do I stick with the variable and hope prices will reduce ?

Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated.👍

@Angelabikerbabe haha

Flip a coin, I’m not sticking my neck out on this one for fear of seeing in stuck on a post in your garden!

On the minus side you have post pandemic growth and demand causing inflation and price rises, on the plus side as more renewables come online there is less demand.

On the “I don’t know” side you have geopolitical forces Chinese/Arab -(i.e. Saudi-UAE etc)/USA/Russian/Iranian etc. Good luck trying to predict what will happen there but greed and corruption will rule whatever happens

If the stability and predictability is important then fix,  what the real gamble here is as the time goes on if prices start to fall, if they fall such that you’d save more than the £60 penalty for the remainder of your term you would switch to a cheaper tariff and take the £60 hit.

Personally, and it still galls me, if someone is going to stay with PP I’d like to see some mitigation applied to the penalty

Perhaps 20% reduction in penalty  every 6 months? Look upon it as a reward for loyalty.

(great idea woz I hear you say...)

A great idea @woz

I'm not sure what's going to happen in the future, but if prices increase much more, I'll have to go off grid and live in a cave

I thought I’d posted last night, but can’t find it.

I would consider it, but I can’t change until the 24th June; I guess I will just have to live in hope the prices don’t keep going up, even the 24 month fix is quite a big jump (28 per cent). from last year’s 14.746 p/kWh fixed price.

Great idea @woz says I.

Alternately, they could offer a ‘penalty free’ switch if you move to another fixed-term contract with Pure Planet within the final 90 days of your current fixed-term contract? After all, the £30/£60 penalty is still less than the reward they pay out to both parties in the ‘recommend a friend’ option.

Thanks for that @woz .

Great idea ,  you can hear me say, about the reduction in penalty!! 👍👍👍
