Why if I have a smart meter do I see estimates for gas and electricity usages. Surely you should know my usage on a monthly basis.

I guess your smart metre is 1st generation and only currently works with the supplier that fitted it.
If so at some point there maybe a software upgrade down the line dependant on the equipment?
PP are wisely phase testing 2nd generation metres before a more comprehensive roll out.
You can use the APP to send metre readings frequently as long as you wait 24 hours before the next.
The monthly moon prompt is quite neat as a reminder...but if you send your readings again or just on your statement date (joining anniversary) I doubt your bill will be estimated. The estimate though only amounts to a few pence so it's just a mind set really.
