Two days before PP ceased trading our DD was supposed to have been reduced but it never happened, we're now over £500 in credit, is there any way we can get the DD reduced to help us financially?

Unfortunately you will probably need to wait till shell energy take over now in regards to DD or goto help and support in PP app and ask the team and see what they can do.

Hi

you can ask PP to review your account, and they could potentially reduce your DD amount, not sure if they are still doing this, as we are awaiting the changeover to Shell, but its worth asking.

You can do this via the app, under in  "mange your balance and payments" , scroll to the bottom "request a review now"

Hello @MoonWillow

Thanks for posting! Some fab advice from @Angelabikerbabe and @Rds261189 here - it may be worth messaging the team over this in case they can still reduce your DD, automatic reviews are no longer being processed, but the team may be able to lower your DD manually for you.

To contact the team head to ‘help’ then ‘ask a question’ in the app or web then type ‘message the team’ along with a description of your issue. They should reply within 1 working day.

I hope this helps!

@MoonWillow You can of course cancel the DD yourself. The advice is to leave DDs in place to facilitate payments but we are still told that if there is no DD refunds come through.

If there is no DD in place Shell are bound to ask you for details. Doing this leaves you in credit to cover outstanding charges and stops your cash flow going awry. A sort of win win. However, it is not known how long we all have to wait before accounts become operational with Shell. I therefore suggest that if you cancel the DD now, you set aside each month what you think your costs might be taking account of course of the credit currently held by PP?
