I'm paying too little, and don't want to build up a debt

Can you force a payment review on my account now?  I’ve only recently joined in the summer but the start payment level is totally inadequate for winter.  i want to get my account reviewed and payment adjusted now, before a debt builds.

Hey Fuggs,

  1. Proceed to Balance and Payments within the APP or online account.
  2. Then click on Request account review
  3. This takes you to PP’s digital assistant and follow the process
  4. Your message will be sent to a PP account handler
  5. Its now late on Friday and the office is closed until Monday
  6. Response within 2/3 working days….but often sooner

you can ask PP to review your account via the app.

Can I just have confirmation.

You do understand that your payment level increases to the ‘Autumn/Winter schedule’ in October anyway?
 

Your ‘start payment level’ in the summer would, for most members, be ‘totally inadequate for winter’ which is why Pure Planet have  a 40/60 split on the payment schedule.

So, if for example, your costs totalled £1000 per year, your payment schedule would look roughly as follows:

April/September = (£400/6)  £66.67 per month

October/March = (£600/6) £100.00 per month.

This can, if like myself, your costs aren’t split as Pure Planet works them, lead to a ‘debt’ over the ‘Spring/Summer’ that is paid back by the ‘Autumn/Winter’ payments.

During my first full year here (April 26 2019 - April 25 2020) my statements, with regular meter readings, were as follows:

May 2019 =  £27.96 debit
June 2019 = £18.84 credit (two payments in that statement)
July 2019 = £17.02 credit
August 2019 = £30.17 debit
September 2019 = £17.84 credit (two payments in that statement)
October 2019 = £51.06 debit (October’s payment was not in this statement)
November 2019 = £50.49 credit (two payments in that statement)
December 2019 = £63.15 credit
January 2020 =  I appear to have no statement for.
February 2020 = £78.58 credit
March 2020 = £86.84 credit
April 2020 = £65.96 credit

Now, as you can see, my debit and credit values vary wildly with a difference of over £100 between just two statements.

I’m not saying ‘don’t ask for an account review’ - what I’m suggesting is that before you worry your payments are ‘inadequate’ you work out whether your ‘anticipated payments over 12 months’ will cover your estimated usage (assuming your estimated usage is fairly accurate._
