The A - Z's of...

Hi everyone,

I hope you know your ABCs - it may come in handy for this game! 😜

Let's start with the A - Z's of... girls' baby names?

The rules are simple, just write one name per post - oh, and it has to be in alphabetical order of course!

To kick things off...

Even wiki does not offer a Brit of I. I would like to offer John Harrison as another H for his Marine chronometer. Massive in solving issues over longitude for seafarers

I'd like to counter offer Isaac Newton as a long shot, I do think we can make an exception here given the gravity of the situation

OK I give in if no-one else is going to do it, there are lots of R's. I'm choosing someone who is a little obscure but his work was the basis for modern digital communication systems especially digital TV and dab radio.
Alec Reeves for Pulse Code Modulation 1928, but he had lots of other communication based inventions too.
He went on to manage the team which invented optical fibres for communications.

Happy if anyone else wants to submit a different R though
