Bev;33466:Just made this up in my head whilst taking a . Grabbed towel and note book, and quickly jotted it down. Here it is............The minutes turn into hours,The hours then soon become days.and before you even realise, the weeks go by in a haze. The world is passing by us,We’re all in our own little bubbles, caught up in this speeding rat raceA world full of worry and troubles. But take a step back for one moment.Just stop to enjoy the sound,Stand still, just look, and just listen,The skies, the trees, the ground. Each day we must just take a minute,in between any worry or strife,to appreciate all the worlds beauties,Just the simple things in life.
schase;33390:I started penning poems in 2012, slowly petering off over the years; now only on occasion as the mood strikes. Hence the name of my poetry blog Inspired Verse. Here (not energy related): one of the three limerick's I've ever written; and, now timely, a 2012 tribute to Turing on his centenary.Gawain limerickThere was a young knight dubbed GawainWho refused to come out of the rain.Wailed Mom, “You’ll catch cold!”,Charged he, “But I’m bold!”Yet rust in one’s suit is a pain.May 2012Turing CentenaryToday we honour Alan Turinga man whose activities duringthe Second World War out at Bletchleyare forever in our minds etched; heand his mates cracked the Enigma.Still, he had to live with the stigmaof his gayness not being acceptableyet he found it all delectable.Despite what the history books saythat his tragedy was to be gaywe now hear his end may have beena mishap, to much our chagrin. But let’s not dwell on bereavementsand focus on his achievements. Was he the ‘Father of Computing’?Others, too, but I’m not disputing. Thanks to the BBC for reporting this storyhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-18561092June 2012
