Game of Thrones - who will win?

New season of Game of Thrones is starting in two weeks and the current debate in the office is who will be the one to sit on the Iron Throne when the final season finished this summer.

We all have our favourite theories (I personally think Dany is going to be a villain)

But the question here isn’t who is a hero or villain but who’ll be victorious and sitting on the Iron Throne when the winter is over.

Who’ll be sitting on the Iron Throne when the winter is over.

Sorry to say but the whole office is wrong.
Samwell tarly will win. Educated, outcast from his powerful family, intelligent and has the power to use iceglass. Overlooked by all so snow will allow him to rule.

Well im watching a show.
Hi @Jon1

I had considered adding Sam to the poll. I didn't because I don't think he'd have the backing to be king - he'd however be a very good option for a PM as would Davos.

I also left Jaime off because he's one of the only people in the show who has no real desire for power or to rule. Same for Arya and Brienne.
Wish I knew what you guys were talking about @Jon1 @Niall_PP
Sam, Davos, Jaime, Arya, Brienne???
Sounds like a jazz combo LOL 😂
I'm with you Jon 1 Samwell Tarly for me !!

I took me a few years to get into GoT. The end of episode 1 season 1 made me sit up and take notice. By the end of Season 1 I was hooked and binge-watched to season 5.

I can't remember looking forward to the final season of show this much. Can't wait.

I wondered what all the fuss was about with GOT, so downloaded what I thought was one episode. Turned out I'd bought access to the whole lot, series 1 to 7 inclusive, so binge watched it.

As for who will end up on the Iron Throne? No idea. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers haven't filmed more than one ending to confuse 'spoilers'.

Binger myself @Oakbank, all 67 in just under a month. Not sure who ends triumphant, very hopeful it is not Cersei. She had some sympathy(not much) earlier in the storyline, but now she justs needs a right good killing!
Ideas about Samwell Tarly seem a good shout. Could be happy with that, which probably dooms that idea.
Early opinions about season 8 anyone?
Well I guess I was wrong - I didn't even include Bran on the poll.

What did people thing of the finale?

What worked for you? What didn't?

I love the finally. Some of series 8 felt a little rushed but I think I went through almost every emotion - which for a TV series to affect you that way must be good.

The ruler of the kingdoms did surprise me. I was almost right with Sansa 😃 (can we talk spoilers yet?)

Well that's 82 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Don't get me wrong, Benioff and Weiss are very talented but instead of wrapping things up in sucha rushed manner so they could go onto other projects, they should have handed it over to someone else to carry it forward.

Oh well. There was more good than bad about it. I was right about the throne and Jon Snow ut not quite in the way I thought things would happen.

An amazing last series of GoT. Every emotion spilling over.
Sad to see it end - we've thoroughly enjoying the journey.
I did hope the mother of dragons would be able to control her anger, but John Snow did what had to be done!!

Indeed. I went from feeling his pain to nearly shouting "just do what has to be done, man" to feeling his pain again. Felt for Tyrion when he found his brother. And laughed at the end seen in the meeting - great humour.

and left me wanting Ayra's adventures....

On the upside, the new Westeros series will begin next year and Martin himself is scripting it with Jane Goldman. It's set a few thousand years before GOT so we should see the origins of the white ealkers and other great stuff. I'd say I can't wait but that's what I said last week........... !!!
