How and when to send meter readings

Sending your monthly meter readings helps make sure we can send accurate monthly statements - with your readings, we can bill you to your exact energy usage. 

When you switch to Pure Planet we’ll email you a few days before you come on supply with us to ask for your first reading. We’ll ask for a photo of your first reading, too.

Then, each month we'll send you an email reminder when it's time to enter your readings. You’ll also see a ‘send a meter reading’ moon appear in your account’s homepage.

We send the email a few days before your statement is due, to give you time to send your readings to us. If we don't receive a reading in time, we'll use an estimate to produce your statement instead.

If you want to send us more frequent readings, you can also send them by going to ‘Menu’ > ‘send a meter reading’. 

Meter in a dark cupboard? If you’re on our app, tap the torch symbol to switch on the flashlight. 

You’ll get a chance to review the numbers before you finally enter them. It’s always handy to check. 

You’ll then see confirmation that we’ve received them, with a big green tick. 

Finally, it’s worth remembering you can only send meter readings once every 24 hours. If you try to resend them sooner, the ‘send’ button will be greyed out and we’ll let you know we don’t need another reading just yet!
