We’ve made some changes to the way we use ‘cookies’ for our website and community and I wanted to give you a bit more info.
There’s two updates to share - community cookies and website cookies. I’ve outlined them separately below, to keep things simple.
We only use necessary cookies so that the community functions correctly, such as being able to register and login, remain logged in, and so content correctly displays. We also use anonymised analytics so that we can see how the community is used, such as which FAQs are read the most, or which topics visitors are searching for.
When anyone first arrives at the community, this is the default, opted-in cookie setting you can choose to accept.
When accepting our necessary cookies, there is no tracking off-site, no marketing, no demographics, no social media. IP addresses are also anonymised.
Pure Planet website
From today the Pure Planet website will, by default, disable ‘Marketing’ cookies for visitors and will provide the option for visitors to enable or disable these cookies via the cookie preference banner.
And from April, there'll be a second update to the website cookies which will see them separated into three options, called ‘necessary’, ‘performance’ and ‘marketing’.
‘Necessary’ - Cookies that are essential in order for Pure Planet to provide our services to visitors/customers, and help us secure and optimise these services. As with the community cookies, when visitors first arrive at the website, this will be the default opted-in level. If visitors block these cookies in their device or browser settings, our website may not work correctly. There will be no tracking off-site, no marketing, no demographics, no social media. IP addresses are also anonymised.
‘Performance’ - Cookies that allow Pure Planet to monitor and better understand how visitors use our websites. These cookies will be disabled by default but visitors can enable them via the cookies preference banner.
‘Marketing’ - Cookies that allow Pure Planet and our advertising suppliers to personalise the advertising you visitors see across search engines, display networks and social platforms. Visitors may see personalised advertising related to our services on other websites or in marketing emails. These cookies will be disabled by default but visitors can enable them via the cookies preference banner.
If you’re not seeing the updated cookies settings for the website or the community, you’ll need to clear your browser cache. Here are some links to guides, depending on your browser of choice.
We’ve also created a full list of all individual cookies used on the Pure Planet website and Community which you can read here.
A shout out to Community Members
