Welcome to the latest edition of the monthly Pure Planet Community highlights.

You may have noticed that the community’s changed a bit….. We’ve successfully migrated to a new platform

Nice one to Members’ patience over the last few days while we migrated across. And also a big thanks to everyone’s who’ve been helping us out with feedback on design and functionality.

June was when we marked three months of lockdown due to Covid-19. Now that restrictions are being lifted for some, there’s good news that we’re now able to start installing smart meters again.

To keep us all positive @Bev  started a great new thread called 'Godsends during lockdown' and the June community photo challenge -  'Post lockdown' - was also won by @Bev  who gets the special ‘snapper’ badge.

As winner, her choice for the July photo challenge is ‘Gardens’ - let’s hope the sun sticks around for a while so we can all get some good snaps!

We’ve also opened a Pure Planet Community coffee shop where our Members can drop by and chat about…. Well, just about anything you want! And @woz has started an interesting new conversation where you can post new words you stumble across.

A massive congrats to @Angelabikerbabe  who last month celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary! And also to @Shelfy  whose heartwarming thank you to the community was the post of the month.

It’s hard to believe now, but for a few days in June it was a real scorcher! Members shared their tips on how to keep pets cool in the heat :sunny:

In Pure Planet news, apart from the community migration at the end of the month, June was also when we opened up our new fixed tariff to all Members

Members took part in a good discussion and poll started by @25 quid  on whether to switch. We spotted a small bug for switchers who’d lost access to their community ‘moon’ during switching. This bug is being fixed, but not before the creation of the Pure Planet ‘lost mooners’ club

Lots of ideas shared by our Members in the community ideas board are now live, thanks to our community platform upgrade.

This includes

  • Reminding newbies not to post personal info in the community
  • Improving the layout of posts with polls so that the poll comes after the next, not before it
  • Automatically updating your community email address if you update your PP energy account email address
  • Having a clear link to the Pure Planet website from the community
  • Improved email notifications for when you are mentioned in the community, especially for new Members who’ve posted their first question
  • A way to see what’s been posted while you’ve been away.

A big thanks to @Bev @Jon1 @stephenrand @25 quid @Duppy @Jowl @Daspy @G4RHL @Angelabikerbabe @woz @David j @Strutt G @NannyOgg @Gwyndy @Duppy @Scubaseahorse and others for suggesting these great ideas.

If you’ve got an idea to share, and you’d like to take part in the ideas section, just drop me or @Natalya private message anytime.

In other PP news, we completed phase 1 of our EVs pilot last month. This was to look into charging patterns.

A massive thanks to pilot members’ help so far. Check out this great post by @GarethHorne  about seeing his EV charging data on his smart meter IHD.

We’re now looking at EV tariffs for phase 2 of the pilot, and we’ll be sharing more info on that soon.

Pure Planet Community points for June 2020

Each month we say thanks to those who contribute to our community by asking and answering questions and participating in discussions on all things related to Pure Planet and renewable energy, and just generally keeping the community safe and fun.

Here's a link to how the Pure Planet community points work which includes how much points are worth, guidance on how to earn points (without giving away our top secret formula!) and when you’ll be able to redeem your points.

I think it’s supposed to be like that, to make it look like one of those arcade games from the 1980s, when you complete a level.

You may be too young to remember @woz
