Summer is here at last, so get out the deckchairs, treat yourself to a cold one in the shade, and enjoy the latest Pure Planet Community highlights.
Yes it’s true, June is here. I know, I know….
But don’t worry if the year feels like it’s running away from us, because now’s your chance to take a deep soak and look back at the month of May 2020.
These are challenging times, and we like looking out for the positives. Community members shared tales of random acts of kindness for Mental Health Awareness Week and also our funniest and weirdest jobs ever.
With the Covid-19 pandemic still affecting us,
In other news it was revealed in May the top 10 ways to reduce our carbon emissions - how many have you done so far? And the community also shared ways to reduce water usage.
First prize for the most liked pictures in the community’s photo challenge for May - shadows and reflections - was jointly won by

The big news from Pure Planet last month was, of course, that we announced our second tariff! All our Members can now switch to our 100% Green Fixed tariff.
We’ve launched this new tariff thanks to feedback from many Members that fixed gives them peace of mind. We know it’s not for everyone, of course, which is why we’ll always have our original 100% Green Variable tariff, too.
Over in our Pure Planet EVs pilot we’ve now got more than 40 members helping us by sharing their EV charging patterns, and we’ve also been discussing the myths v reality of owning an EV.
The pilot has been running a few months now and it’s given us some great insight which will help us when we launch new products and services to enable and support EV usage.
We’re also designing new web pages and EV tools with Members involved in testing. Great stuff.
Looking ahead to June 2020
June’s big news for the community will be the move to a new platform. The migration work is running to schedule and we’re looking to go live around Wednesday 24 June. Of course there’ll be much more info on this over the coming weeks.
The other big event this month is, of course, that the Pure Planet Community rewards redemption window is now open! 😍
Over the next week to 10 days community members will get an email with a link to redeem the rewards, which are for community points earned between 1 December 2019 and 31 May 2020. (See below for how everyone got on in May).
Here's a link to how the Pure Planet community points work which includes how much points are worth, guidance on how to earn points (without giving away our top secret formula!) and when you’ll be able to redeem your points.
One thing a few community members have asked for is the ability to donate their points to other Pure Planet Members, and also to charity.
This was suggested by
Some great news! If your community rewards are £5 or more you’ll now be able to choose to redeem them either with Amazon or with For Good Causes, an organisation which supports thousands of charities. And if you’d like your rewards to be sent to another Member, just let me or
