Hi everyone and welcome to the latest edition of the Pure Planet Community monthly round-ups, where we look back at some of our Member highlights, and look ahead to what’s coming up!

Throughout August we’ve been keeping entertained with @Bev’s ‘add a sentence to a story’, and, since travel is limited at the moment, we’ve been remembering some of our favourite locations with @25 quid’s game identifying them from above - get your magnifying glasses out folks!:spy:

@Bev’s been asking what gives you the cringe factor - but is @LUCKY JO’s lunch cringe worthy or delicious? She’s been asking for your opinions, featuring some very impressive homegrown chickpeas!

Get your voting caps ready, as we’re polled on whether you’d rather choose health or wealth, and on a different note, whether food should have carbon footprint labels?

@martindell is looking for advice on investing in micro generation for a new-build project, and speaking of investing in energy and homes, @SteveH2707 is excited to use the Government Green Homes grant, for underfloor insulation - he’s asking if you’ll be applying for one, and what would you use it for?

Shoutout to @Josyjo for her winning pic in August’s Hometown Pride photo challenge! She’s chosen September’s theme to be Animals and wildlife. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s snaps :sunglasses:.

August also saw some very sweet animal photos posted on the Community, which are always popular here! @woz caught a fantastic snap of a pretty cute, if not slightly dazed(!) feathered visitor, while @Jowl’s family welcomed some adorable kittens. They’ve been named after Star Wars characters - check out the photos to see which characters they chose!

When it comes to EVs we’re talking about different types of EV charging speeds, to help @DougO prep for his new EV being delivered! @Marc also posted the latest update on our EVs pilot, including a sneak peek of some new EV pages and tools for our website.:raised_hands:

Unfortunately this year’s Fully Charged Live event was postponed due to COVID-19, so we’ve been asking Fully Charged Live’s host Robert Llywellyn your questions instead! Be sure to look out for his replies soon!

At Pure Planet we doubled our refer a friend rewards, for a limited time, to be £50 each when your referred friend switches to Pure Planet! And, as our way of saying thanks, we’ve introduced a £25 voucher for NHS workers switching to Pure Planet through the NHS staff offers website. :blue_heart:

We released a new version of your app (version 8.11.1) and web accounts with changes including improvements to accessibility, meaning Members can navigate using a keypad as well as a mouse.

August saw an update to our fixed tariff Members’ rates, reflecting increasing wholesale prices. You can check out the latest rates in our FAQs - and if you love a good spreadsheet, @woz has made a fantastic in-depth spreadsheet which may just inspire you!

We’ve also introduced a new FAQ all about how annual energy usage is calculated, which may come in handy if you’re thinking of changing tariff. Thanks @woz for suggesting this in our Ideas Board - a place where Members can suggest new ideas for Pure Planet to look into, including Community features.

Throughout July and August we ran a trial with Reach:OUT, a new initiative to help Members struggling with payments. This came to an end in August, and the results were really encouraging! Finding ways to support Members in this challenging time is very important to us, so it was great to be able to share these results with you here in the Community.

On the topic of payments, we’ve been working with Go Cardless to make sure that, from now on, refunds appear in your account as from ‘Pure Planet’!

We’ve also officially ended our smart meter pilot! Thanks for your patience and feedback - we’ve now installed SMETS2 meters in around 6,500 homes, and we’ve definitely learned a lot!

What’s coming next?

It’s that time of year where the leaves are just starting to change colour, the nights are drawing in… and cooler month Direct Debits are coming up (from 1 October!). We’ve published a new blog post all about budgeting for Winter, and we’re emailing everyone a reminder, too.

We’ll be sharing the latest developments in our EVs pilot in a September update. This will preview some of what we’ll be offering later this autumn for existing EV drivers, and we’ll also be revealing the new EV tools going live on the Pure Planet website to help people find the right car for them. More details over in our community’s EVs section

And also coming very soon, an exciting change to our Community Ideas Board… watch this space!

Ahead of this month’s Community points, if you’re looking for inspiration on what you could use your points for, check out the sweet way Bev’s used them

And yes @Nataly we've noticed how quickly the nights are drawing in at the moment, it seems like the 'weather organiser' has moved us into November! Brrrrrrr.  It's officially Autumn now 🍁🍂🍁🍃🍂🍁

(Has the month gone quicker than usual or is it me?)

Feels like it @woz Maybe 2020 is moving faster than other years? Nothing about 2020 would surprise me anymore
