Welcome to the latest edition of the Pure Planet Community highlights and points round-up. This month we’re making eyes at February 2021. Blink, and you would’ve missed it.

The year is flying by, rushing us through Winter and headlong into Spring. No sooner was it the New Year when all of a sudden Valentine’s Day popped up. And in a few weeks it’ll be Easter! :open_mouth:

Love most definitely was in the air here in our community.

Making the most of some mild weather, @Angelabikerbabe  snapped these two lovebirds cuddling up in a tree. She also spotted a beautiful Kingfisher!

Lovebirds by @Angelabikerbabe

There was lots more love for @Rds261189  who was our community member in the spotlight for Feb, and @KyleH  posted a very loving hello to the community which us regulars thought was ace.

Last month we got some news on when we might start coming out of lockdown, at last. Will your hygiene habits change as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic? Have your say in this poll started by @Bev . And anyone who’s keeping a close eye on their energy spending, check out this post by @G4RHL  on how he keeps track of his bills.

We’re an inclusive bunch here in the Pure Planet Community, but we also like to share our different regional sayings and there was also much debate about the correct name for a certain food item.

Community members took part in lots of conversations about renewables and sustainability last month.

Check out these before and after photos which thankfully show a reduction in the amount of plastic being used in razors packaging - thanks to @Bev  for sharing these. And @Nataly  is looking for tips on using beeswax wraps instead of clingfilm.

If you’re looking to carry out a digital detox of social media and email, check out this guide posted by yours truly, and there’s also some great debate here about how to transition to net zero home heating

In Pure Planet news, our February app and web release had some nice improvements for any Member affected by a missed payment, plus some bug fixes thanks to eagle-eyed community Members!

We also kicked off some prototype testing of app homepage improvements, and our pilot of half-hourly meter readings from Members with smart meters is well underway.

Elsewhere, we’re seriously impressed with this word chain game started by @25 quid  in February which has already clocked up more than 2,350 replies! And we’re equally in awe of this latest poetic ditty posted by @woz .

The winner of the community photo competition for February, which had the theme ‘Reflections’, is @LUCKY JO for this wonderful photo of her husband and a stone bridge. As winner she gets to choose the subject for the March photo comp - ‘Glorious Skies’. Good luck and let’s hope we get some fine weather for it.

Reflections by @LUCKY JO

And a big congrats to the winner of our Hive smart camera competition, and commiserations to everyone else who entered.

Finally, and most importantly, February 2021 was when Community stalwart and all round good egg :egg: @woz  posted his 10,000th reply! Amazing stuff. :muscle:

Looking ahead to what’s coming up

There’s a fair bit of work being done behind the scenes on some big projects coming soon, including support for pre-pay meters, smart export guarantee, an EV tariff, and more.

This month we’ll also be introducing ways for Members to switch to a new tariff, when coming up to the end of their fixed tariff period. More info on that soon.

Also look out for some new guides to joining Pure Planet appearing on the Pure Planet website. These will be aimed at newbies mostly! And of course we’ll be keeping our more in-depth community FAQs too.
