I started my switch to Pure Planet from Tonik and then received an email the day after saying Tonik had ceased and were being taken over by Scottish Power who then asked me to send my readings, which I did. I still want to complete my switch and stay with Pure Planet but Scottish Power keep trying to switch me back to calculate my final bill. Any advice on what I should do?

@GMFB You need do nothing, but I imagine it will take a very long time to sort out any credit or debit from (tonik) Scot. Power. Technically you switched before they folded, normally Tonik and PP would need to agree the switchover readings now it will be Scot Power and PP

Keep photographic records of all of your readings, you may need them.

Hi @GMFB

Welcome to the Pure Planet community!

Can you confirm that your switch is underway? Did you receive the welcome pack by email?

If you can tell us that it may help get you an answer.

We'll look forward to helping you sort this out!

Stephen

Here's what OFGEM says

I’m already in the process of switching supplier and it’s not yet complete. Will my switch go through and is my credit balance protected?

You don’t need to worry. If it’s already in progress, you will continue to be moved to the new supplier you have chosen. You should not need to do anything.

When your switch completes and the account with your old supplier is closed, you may be owed money if your account had built up credit with the old supplier. Once the switch is complete your direct debit with your old supplier should be cancelled. However, if this has not happened you may need to cancel the direct debit with your old supplier. We'll look to appoint a supplier who will pay back money owed to you that's outstanding from a closed account.

Hi Stephen. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have received my welcome pack and had confirmation that Pure Planet were supplying my energy from 2nd November and have taken the first payment.
