I’ve just moved in, but pureplanet says they won’t bill me or switch me over for 17 days. Why can’t I back date the time I’ve already been here?

hi

If the house you have moved Into is with another supplier, it takes 17 days to switch over.

Until then you are a deemed customer of the previous supplier, and as such , will be billed by them until you switch to PP.

hi @Winch By law energy companies are obligated to give you a mandatory cooling-off period, the other 3 days is about the minimum time for admin etc to be sorted, so 17 days is the shortest you’ll get, and it isn’t a good idea to arrange the switch before you are responsible for the property because you aren’t the deemed customer before you take ownership (so you’d be switching someone else).
