How to take a meter reading on moving into a Pure Planet supplied house on day 1 but not join PP?

We just moved into our house and naturally need to take a meter reading. But we can't.
The whole set up is ridiculous as you can't do a meter reading without being a customer. I don't want to be a customer! How do I take a meter reading but not commit to being a customer?

Hi there
Whenever you move into a property you become a deemed customer of whichever company supplies the energy to that property. If you want to change the supplier you can initiate a switch to a new supplier, but it may be better first to become a customer of Pure Planet, give your opening meter readings, and then you can initiate a switch to a new supplier at any time.

Hi Keith,,
Why can't you take a meter reading, the meters are in your home, any information that you got from Pure Planet would be historic.

If you don't want to be a customer of PP, you simply have to switch to your chosen provider. You will receive a bill from PP for the energy used between moving in and switching
