Could just solve the “problem" if number of chargers is the metric.

How many off-street parking driveways are there in the country?

About two thirds of UK drivers have access to a driveway or garage. Seems high doesn’t it? That’s according to the BBC. I guess they’re not saying two thirds of homes have a driveway or garage, that would be ridiculous.

 

But then having x number of vehicle charging points is never ever going to meet a target. It’s only a socket, it does not mean it is being used. We all have sockets already, some of which can be used. There are now more vehicle charging points than there are filling stations.
