Here's an updated chart with our members' rates, and a new thread explaining why the rates have changed.

Hi @mansoor mohammed and welcome to the Pure Planet Community.

Take a look at our chart below for kilowatt hour rates around the UK:

If you need more guidance on which region you're in, scroll down our homepage and check out the labelled map.

Our monthly membership rate is £10 for gas and £10 for electricity. All your energy is charged at our members' rate which is the wholesale rate with no markup (see table above). All our prices include VAT at 5%.

Hope that helps. We'd love to hear about any other thoughts you have too. Share feedback here any time you need to.

There is also a dual fuel discount for members who are with us for both electricity and gas.
Hi Toby,

Thank you for the quick response

Am I right to think there is no standing charge with the tariff and you only charge unit rate?

Regards

Mansoor

Hey @mansoor mohammed,

You have the monthly membership fee per type of fuel plus your member rate for energy use. Check out a pricing breakdown in the link below:
https://purepla.net/#pricing

Does that answer everything you need?
Hi Toby,

Looking at the pricing page it says for the eastern region the bill value is £895 based on 3100 electricity and 12500 gas consumption.

But I've quickly calculated the rates you provided 11.424 for elec and 2.405 for gas and used the same consumption figures + factoring in the £20 membership fee - the annual bill value is coming out as £674.71

I'm I missing something? Daily standing charge?

Hi @mansoor mohammed,

When you've added in the membership fee, have you added it for each month (£20 per month) or just once? Just checking that we're on the same page.
My bad :p

All adds up now

It would be good to have a quote system which allows you to compare with the current tariff you are on - is this in the pipeline?
Userlevel 5
No worries @mansoor mohammed , glad to hear we've cleared that up. Thanks for the great suggestion too. I'll talk to the rest of the team now and update you on if its in the pipeline.

Once, again, we like your thinking here @mansoor mohammed. It is being worked on and I'll provide any new updates on it as I get them. Don't hesitate to suggest anything else: Here, or in our Feedback section.
Is there a more accurate way to tell which region I'm in than the map? It's quite hard to tell for areas around the borders

Hi @stephy3, thanks for the feedback. I'll share that with the rest of the team. Whereabouts do you live roughly? (The town/city/village name would be great) and I'll find out for you.

Toby - are these the prices you would compare to the TCR rate shown on my current bill and then add £240 for annual membership fees? Trying to find an accurate way to compare.

Hi @Simoni and welcome to the community.
Your current TCR rate would include a standing order fee from your current supplier. At Pure Planet, we have the standard membership fee (which is the standing charge, applied monthly) plus your usage (as per your region). We’re working on an update so we can quote on actual annual usage figures. In the meantime if you’d like to message me with your annual kWh usage for gas and electric, we’ll send back a personal quote for you so you can make a direct comparison with your current deal.

@mansoor mohammed have you been able to find out if you'll save with Pure Planet yet?
Hi Toby,

I can make a saving with pure planet but the only thing which is putting me off is thay the tariff is a variable and not a fixed.

Will you be looking to launch a fixed tariff at all?
Userlevel 5
Hi @mansoor mohammed,
You don't get a fixed tariff to ensure that you get the best wholesale rate. As a result, we don't currently have plans for a fixed tariff.
What is the electric rate for south Wales region on economy 7 meter. Thanks
Userlevel 5
Hi @iceburnmarko and welcome to the community.
We have one tariff for all members, with energy at the wholesale rate. So Economy 7 members will pay one rate, around the clock. I take it you've had a look at our region chart? If not, there's a link below. How does our rate compare to what you're on now?

Thanks for that. For my father he's on eco7 meter, yet only use it less than 10% of time. With your other prices it might be worth him switching.

For myself , we do not have gas in house and hence use electric to hear water to charge the eV car at night hence use at least 60% of our electric usage at
night. Therefore I might be wrong, but think for my house it cheaper to stay with eco 7 supplier. At least for a while

Hi @iceburnmarko,
I'd be happy to check with the rest of the team what your costs would be with us at Pure Planet if you'd like? Feel free to message me any time and we can have a chat.
Just been advised of an increase by edf energy 26.25p standing charge and 3.623ppkwh for gas. As i currently use 100,000kwh then by my reckoning I will save £1204.85 switching to yourselves at £10pm standing charge and 2.394ppkwh for gas in the North West! That is a 32% saving...... Not bad and glad I started switching a few weeks ago!!
Userlevel 5
Great to hear @Shambles! That's a big saving. Your switch will be complete quite soon then? Great to have you on-board.
I was with npower and switched to Octopus last year. Thought that was good as they saved me £300 a year (I paid more because I choose their 100% green energy option). I switched to Pure Planet: 100% green and carbon offset is a brilliant bonus. Better still, I've saved another £960 a year!

Oh. I told my Mum and she's switched too! She's saved £400 - worth the £40 exit fee she had to pay British Gas.
Userlevel 5
Great to hear that you and your mum will be making a big saving @LadyC. Any plans on what you'll spend that on? It's a lot!
Hi Toby
I see prices of 2.420 for gas and 11.26 for gas on the uSwitch site.
Are these old or from a different region or something?
Userlevel 5
Hi @Cheeron,
On uSwitch, were you asked to input a region? Different regions have slightly different charges, so I'll investigate this to see where the disparity is 🙂.
