Hi there, new to this site. Trying to understand usage and balance. If I was £156 in credit, submit a reading then credit drops by £50, does that mean Pure planet have adjusted balance accordingly. Sounds obvious but want to check. Thanks, Pogues.

Hi Pogues
As this is your first post, welcome to the Pure Planet community!

Your balance goes up when your direct debit is paid, and goes down when your monthly usage is priced and deducted. That should happen on the monthly anniversary of when you started with PP - sometimes a weekend or bank holiday delays the direct debit payment and it doesn't appear on your monthly statement - until the next month. But you can check your balance any time on the app.

Your monthly meter readings help to keep your usage figures accurate and on track.

Hope that helps

Hello,

I have received a quote from PP which is a fixed rate plan.

If the monthly usage is less than what has been estimated in the quote, will the monthly price be reduced accordingly?

Thank you.

Hi @suhelchagani

Fixed Rate means the price you pay per kWh is fixed, not what you pay for your entire usage.

Therefore, if you use less energy than you were quoted for, your monthly direct debit should be reduced at your account review.

Conversely, if you use more energy than you were quoted for, your monthly direct debit should be increased at your account review.

Account reviews happen automatically every 6 months after you’ve switched, you can however request one yourself after month 3.

Kindest Regards
Gwyndy

@suhelchagani

just to add, look at your balance as a jar you top up with your direct debit, and PP take out of the jar for the what you’ve used (and standing charge), if there isn’t enough in the jar (persistently) PP will review and  increase the DD (asking you first).
