Meter reading process

Hi,

I'm happy to confirm that I'm the 10th Pure Planet member! Hooray!

I already have a question though. I got an 12 month estimate and while I'm happy with the amount I'd like to know how the "submit your meter readings" process work.

I've had a quick look at the Help section for couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @GabrieL and welcome to the community. I'll discuss your question with the team now and get back to you. I'll also look into how we can explain this as clearly as possible in our Help section. Great suggestion.

I got this info from the CS team which I think is quite clear:

Send us a monthly meter reading so we can keep your account accurate and up to date. If you miss a month, don’t worry - we’ll use our best estimate to work out your energy use and spend.

We forecast your 12 months energy use and create an annual payment plan. Our monthly direct debits are set to match the pattern of your energy use so you’ll pay a little more in the colder months of October to March and a little less in the warmer months of April to September.

Hi @GabrieL, when you refer to PAYG, do you mean a meter that you pre-pay on? Or is it a Smart meter that logs exactly what you use?

Perhaps I'm not using the right terminology. It's definitely not a PAYG meter.

What I mean is I'd like to pay what I use instead of my bill being worked out based on an estimation. Something I guess will link to my other question: https://community.purepla.net/threads/35-First-Meter-Reading#.WOTbmXQrJE4
