I need my meter box moving I have rung national grid and they have said my electric provider should b able to do thus for me ?

Possibly.
What do you mean by ‘meter box’ and is it inside or outside, there’s presumably more risk to the meter if it’s outside.

If the meter is protected from the elements and there are no sharp edges exposed on the box but it’s just unsightly then it isn’t dangerous.

I don’t work for PP the above is just my personal opinion based on a very loose question. It carries no weight in law.

I think the answer is obvious. 

Can I fit a new one myself or does the electric need to be turned off?
